Do CTA's work in a marketing video?
Sales Messages, CTA's or 'Calls to action' are messages that will typically come towards the end of a piece of content. They are the ‘sales message’ that the marketer wants to send and the content will be the carrier. For a long time digital marketers were teaching that every piece of content had to have a CTA.
Increasingly some #DigitalMarketing experts are saying that when it comes to creating awareness and engagement, especially with video and podcast content, CTA’s can actually do more harm than good.
With video you are oftentimes aiming to create awareness, familiarity and trust with your audience. And for this reason, the best CTA is either NO CTA or at most ‘see you in the next video’. Your audience can always find you when they want or need you.
… But that’s just my opinion.
